The angel Gabriel started it all

he gave Muhammed a spiritual call.

Cave of Hira is where it occurred

Gabriel reciting undeterred.

The revelations spoken to Muhammed

Muhammed saying he was unread.

Gabriel squeezed him tight

three times, till he could recite.

In Mecca The Prophet starts to preach

deaf ears, so he begins to beseech.

Angry and feeling scorned

very few were reformed.

Medina his next port of call

it'll be Allah for one and all.

Soldiers he recruits for war

Mecca ignoring him no more.

Slaughter begins, conversion complete

a bloodbath by his military elite.

An accomplished general in war

Muhammed we should all adore.

Christians take up arms and fight

never again sweetness and light.

Murder and maim in Gods name

it never occurred we're all the same.

We'd have to say religion has failed

enraged, confused, befuddled.

What was wrong with just behaving

instead of fighting ranting and raving.
