crossed the moat to commandeer.

School holidays were the best

blood hill on its crest.

A stones throw from the castle

in the evening we'd do battle.

Cowboys and Indians the usual start

not that you could tell apart.

Catapults, mud balls ammunition

load up and take position.

No one ever really won

by crikey, it was good fun.

Sometimes I went alone

around the moat I'd roam.

Water hens at the base of reeds

I thought of you again today, did you host some small soiree? I feel you are amongst your friends, unless of course my mind transcends.
