Granada in the Caribbean Sea
that's where his life came to be.
The island of nutmeg, fruit too
unspoiled white sand beaches to view.
Volcanic soil with good tilth
It remains within the Commonwealth.
In 'ninety nine our hero left
he must have been a little bereft.
English shores he eventually went
The Princess of Wales Royal Regiment.
An army life it was to be
keen, ambitious, full of esprit.
Service in Kosovo, N. Ireland
in 2004 the Iraqis land.
Driving a Warrior tracked vehicle
he performed a near miracle.
Though an ambush of raking fire
the whole platoon he did inspire.
A month later he ran out of luck
despite showing tremendous pluck.
Brain damaged in another attack
hospitalized a huge set back.
A Victoria Cross was his award
by family and nation much adored.
Back on duty with military affairs
Grenada can be proud of one of theirs.
