Henry V11

Henry V11

He'd been out of the country twelve years

at Milford Haven greeted with cheers.

Lancastrian Plantagenet makes his claim

forcing a battle to get his domain.

Amazing victory over Richard the Third

enormous power transferred.

The usurpers body slung on a horse,

loud cheering, no verbal discourse.

Henry a very shrewd King

centralising everything.

Bringing power to the throne

no private armies of their own.

Middle classes given more power

the magnates past their finest hour.

To much squabbling at the top

heavy fines this would stop.

His strength from the common classes

sick of feudal nobility clashes.

Centralising the courts of law

right to appeal the crown oversaw.

His reign lasted twenty four years

the countries budget not in arrears.

Finest King the country ever had,

hardly mentioned, makes me sad.
